We, the human race are part of the circle of life.  We eat meat and vegetables in order to survive. Cows eat grass to survive, and when we die, we decompose which benefits the plants. God has placed CERTAIN animals as food for us humans. Everything on earth, has a purpose.

This news might have been speculating across the internet but no matter how many times I read this, it never fails to disturb me. Recently on Facebook, I come across a group whereby you join it to show support. If you happen to have a facebook account, join it to know more.

To those who don’t have a Facebook account, here are some pictures from that group that I would like to share with you.

Rabbit skinned alive

A picture of a rabbit skinned alive. Still hold it head up and grasping for air and waits for death.

Multiple cats put into small cages. The animals can spend hours or days lying jam packed in tiny cages on top of one another without food or water, watching other cats and dogs being tortured and killed in front of them - the smell of fear, pain and death constantly in their nostrils.

Locked in a cage so small, that the poor thing can’t even stand up. Even chickens about to slaughter could stand up in their cage.

This really broke my heart. Look at the two front legs broken and twisted to the opposite direction.

Notice the ears missing and roasted. Legs without paws.
When I first came across this page, I cry so hard and just could not fall asleep that night. I say a little prayer to the Lord asking why He allowed this to happen. Call me emo,  call me soft, this really really breaks my heart. So much so that I am ready to give up studying IT and study veterinarian instead.  Being a animal lover and having a furry son, I really really hope all this could stop and I wanna be part of saving more animals not only animals in these situations, but sick ones too.

It seems that they make these animals suffer before killing just to get their adrenaline pumping so their meats would have a better texture. Yea, we do eat meats like pork, beef, chicken, etc. But the main key point of it is that they are killed right away. One quick death. Not the kind of torture these poor animals go through only to end up on people’s dining table. Dogs are man’s best friend. Let me assure you, this is not just a phrase. It is REAL. They know their owner’s every emotion. They sit by your side when you’re sad, jump and run for joy when you’re happy, try their very best to please you.

Even if you’re not a dog lover, this is just wrong to begin with. Torturing poor animals to satisfy our taste buds just ain’t right.
What makes us human so special that we have the right to torture these animals just to satisfy our food cravings? Is it because we’ve evolved? Is this the price of evolution? Not to forget, we’re mammals as well. Just because we wear clothes and could think and survive in most situations, does that give us the right to play God and do whatever pleases us? As I mentioned earlier, everything God does, there’s a purpose. Are dogs meant to be eaten? Even if it is, do they have to suffer just so that their meats taste better for us humans?

Nice weather. A little sun shine but windy too! I’ve always preferred cold to hot weather, which is why I loath staying in Malaysia because it’s HOT all year round! But still, I love and proud of Penang. No matter which part of the world I end up, I’d would never leave Penang permanently. I grew up in this place. This is my roots, where I come from.

My question today is this ~ What makes man a man?

It is not the way (s)he’s born, but the way he chooses and make decisions.

A question has been playing in my head while I’m studying intensely for my exams these days. Does everyone know their path (like what they wanna do for their whole life) when they leave high school? How does one knows definitely what his/her passion is at a mere age of say… 18yrs? Most teenagers continue their education today because it’s just the right thing to do. Everyone does that. A small number of people knows what they’re gonna be when they grow up but majority of today’s people don’t. What if we regret the course we’re in? We’re gonna waste our parent’s hard earn money. A person can have many interests, e.g.: gardening, cooking, computers, etc. How are we gonna choose which course suitable for us depending on interest before pursuing it by entering college? People say, choose something that you’re good at. But hey, what if your hidden talent doesn’t show before you enter college?

It’s sad to say this, but most people just go with the flow and do the “right” thing: finish high school, college, uni, work routinely (9 to 5 job), get a job, car, marry, children, die. Your life is then complete. What is our purpose in life? Is that circle a routine and considered ‘normal’ just because everyone is doing it?

I hereby would like to urge readers to step out of this routine. Do not worry about which course to take after high school just because everyone’s doing it. If you’re not sure about what you want, just relax and get a temporary job first. If that job doesn’t interest you, and you find yourself waiting for sign out time to get home, then I suggest you go on job hoping. Take 10 years if you must. Only pursue it if you’re absolutely sure if that is what you want to do for the rest of your life. Even worst, never go for fancy names of the course like: biotech or aerodynamics course because it makes you sound smart.

We’ve gotta admit. Everyone will eventually die and leave this world one day. No matter where we’re going after we die, we wanna leave a so call mark in this world. Do you wanna be remembered? If so, start stepping out of the normal, ordinary realm.

I would want my life to be meaningful. On the day I die, I would wanna remember who I’ve helped, who’s life I gave meaning to. Did I enjoy my life here on earth while I’m on it? That way, I would leave with no regrets.

Heck, I do not need to drive a fancy car or live in a palace or earn all the money in the world to be remembered. These things would stay here on earth when I die. If these things I’m after, on the day I die, I’m gonna ask this question: “What did I do my entire life? Where did everything I’ve work my entire life for gone to? I’ve saved every nick and penny to buy this enormous place just to live comfortably. Did I get to enjoy my hard earn money?”

We only live life once. Live it to the fullest. Human life is short. Enjoy it while you can. Do you know how big this world really is? With so much to see and learn, we really don’t have limited time as our life time is short. Humans have the means and capacity to reach out the other side of the world and learn different cultures. (We’ve invented airplane. What more do you want?) I once asked a back packer, why do you back pack? Isn’t it difficult to go country by country, stopping at some places to work odd jobs like in farms, or laborer in construction sites when you run out of money. Is visiting everywhere really worth all the hard work? (He’s a chef back in his home country) He said, I just love sitting down with a group of people all from different places and talking about their home country, or their backpacking experiences, is better than reading a book. These experiences, are something where you can’t find in books. So yes, all these hard work (I’m working part-time in the same farm as him to support my living expenses while studying) is worth it in exchange of all the knowledge that money can’t buy. (Even books can be bought)

Women have strengths that amaze men.

They bear hardships and they carry burdens,

but they hold happiness, love and joy.

They smile when they want to scream.

att38186.jpg

They sing when they want to cry.

They cry when they are happy

and laugh when they are nervous.

They fight for what they believe in.

They stand up to injustice.

dsc00069.jpg

They don’t take ‘no’ for an answer

when they believe there is a better solution.

They go without, so their family can have.

They go to the doctor with a frightened friend.

They love unconditionally.

They cry when their children excel

and cheer when their friends get awards.

They are happy when they hear about

a birth or a wedding.

Their hearts break when a friend dies.

They grieve at the loss of a family member,

yet they are strong when they

think there is no strength left.

They know that a hug and a kiss

can heal a broken heart.

Women come in all shapes, sizes and colors.

They’ll drive, fly, walk, run or e-mail you

to show how much they care about you.

The heart of a woman is what makes the world keep turning.

They bring joy, hope and love.

They have the compassion and ideas.

pic05844.gif

They give moral support to their

family and friends.

Women have vital things to say

and everything to give.

HOWEVER, IF THERE IS ONE FLAW IN WOMEN,

IT IS THAT THEY FORGET THEIR WORTH.

A good, meaningful poem always manage to touch our hearts or reminds us what used to be good. We, humans are always so caught up with the things of the world that sometimes we lose track of our innocence without even realizing. Here, is a poem written by a friend of mine, Jason Leong which touches on one of humans natural action which seem so harmless yet destructive in today’s world.

Listen up gossipers;
you know who you are;
Those things outta your mouth;
Can travel very far.

Don’t go about spreading slander;
Leviticus 19:16 said;
Do not do anything that endangers for;
you’ll determine your victim’s fate.
